James Martin owns businesses in paving construction and radio communication, building on a background of executive management and sales across commercial sectors of hotels and hotel management, IT sales and implementation in the hospitality and human resource environments, and the construction industry. Corporate and business experience encompasses executive management, finance, strategy and development of people; operationally James covers needs evaluations and solution design, costing, project management, technical management and customer relations. James is involved in various construction industry bodies.
Specialised paving construction is based on eighteen years of experience, having managed and owned paving businesses in Johannesburg and Durban, offering personal assistance and advice on all aspects of domestic, commercial and industrial paving, especially on technical- and design-intense projects.
The radio communication operates on cellular communication technology offering immediate national coverage. Radios are a dedicated business tool on a fixed cost, irrespective of data use, leaving cel phones for personal use. Technically we record all audio communication, geo-locate and track movement. Additional features include NFC stations, access control, time & attendance and ID scanning; and body cams are due for release.
A passion is labyrinths with their imbued spirituality and meditative and contemplative aspects. Building labyrinths appeals to my design skills in understanding needs and requirements, and then the subsequent build detail. This, of course, fits with my deep faith and work in the Church.
